Heart-Opening Hatha Yoga
This practice uses a heart-oriented theme and a strong foundation to enable you to align with your highest intention - to experience yourself at your best.
Anusara® Yoga was founded by American born, John Friend in 1997. Anusara means “flowing with Grace,” “flowing with nature”, “following your heart.” It is a practice which encourages and nurtures you as you engage fully with life, looking for the good in every person, every object, every situation. Anusara® Yoga also enables you to be honoured for your unique differences, limitations and talents.
Each class begins with a heart-oriented theme and the Anusara® invocation, which lifts our self awareness and reminds us of the best part of ourselves. Having set the scene, you will then align your body using the Universal Principles of AlignmentTM from Anusara® Yoga. These principles are based on modern biomechanics. For each asana or pose, you will be encouraged to use balanced action to express the pose in your individual way. Throughout the class a heart-opening theme is weaved, to encourage a celebration of your heart.
